About Us

Furzton Tots Pre-School opened in 2008 and is privately owned. It operates from one large room within the Ridgeway Community Centre, which is situated in Furzton, close to Milton Keynes.

The pre-school is open each weekday during term time from 09:00 to 11:30 and 12:00 to 14:30 with a lunch club. We also have a breakfast club from 8:00 to 9:00 available to families who require it. All children share access to a secure, enclosed, outdoor play area.

There are child toilet facilities located within the main hall, and there is also a kitchen accessible from the main hall, which is used for supervised baking activities. We have a foyer, which can be used for parents and children to wait inside before the preschool is open.

We are fortunate to have a Managing Director who holds an Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) qualification, and has been working with children since 2008. Our Deputy Manager holds a level 3 qualification.

Our aim is to support and help children through their learning, working within the statutory frame work of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We encourage children to become more independent, giving them opportunities to explore and investigate the world around them.

At Furzton Tots Preschool Ltd, we know parents and guardians are a key part of a child’s development as you are their first educators. Therefore it is important for us as professionals to work closely with you, so we can ensure to give your child the best possible start at preschool. The more information you can provide, the more we can help and support your child through their day(s) at preschool. We provide opportunities for you to come in and look at the progress your child has made on a term by term basis.

When children start preschool they are introduced to all members of staff. The member of staff your child feels more comfortable with will determine who will be their key person. The key person system works effectively in engaging parents.

Parents contribute in initial entry assessments of the child’s starting points, and they are kept well informed about their children’s progress. Parents are encouraged to support and share information about their children’s learning and development at home.
